For once I'm glad to see a bit of rain after yesterday's high temperatures. The forecast is for heavy rain all day. I haven't ran in these kinds of conditions since leaving John O'Groats 10 days ago. It seems like months ago never mind just 10 days.
The aim today is to get as near to the Forth Road Bridge as is physically possible. I'm just 3 miles behind the overall schedule. Hopefully this can be reduced around the border country and in Northumberland this week. It would even be nice to try and get into credit with the mileage. However, I'm not going to get over ambitious at this early stage of the run. I'll be keeping my battered and blistered feet firmly on the ground.
