Run Geordie Run TV

Taking people on the journey has always been part of my major events in the past. The run across ******** in 2025 will be no exception.

The Run Geordie Run website and social media feeds have always served my events well and that will continue to be the case. The next run will see greater use of YouTube. This will not only be during the run itself but in the 2 year build up that remains.

Just like the physical preparation for the run, producing quality content on YouTube will take a lot of practice. My hope is that by the time of the next big run during summer 2025 that I will have acquired the right level of skills to be able to produce some really great content.

The location of the run in 2025 lends itself to awe inspiring cinematography. Adding in a huge dose of insightful commentary and genuine enthusiasm should see the run really come to life for viewers the world over.

Whether you’re at home watching on a big screen or on a mobile or tablet the daily update from ***** will hopefully become essential viewing. Running 30+ miles every day for 100 day will only leave a small window of editing/uploading time each day. The challenge is not only to produce high quality engaging content but to do it very quickly. There’ll also be the usual daily blog on www.rungeordierun.com too to write. It promises to be a hectic 100 days.

Over the coming weeks, there’ll be a small amount of Run Geordie Run content on YouTube. If all goes to plan then this will grow in frequency and quality of the coming months. Up and coming content will cover the build up to the 3000+ mile run including my search to find sponsors, training, diet, route plans, search for a support team and many other aspects. It’ll be a bit rough round the edges at first but come the run across ******* in 2025 it should be a slicker operation.

If you’d like to subscribe to my channel then it can be found here.

PS. You'll see the use of ***** until the announcement of the next run during the last week of June.

Sponsorship prospectus for 2025 complete

The sponsorship prospectus for the 2025 run is now in the hands of St. Benedict's Hospice for comment and sign off. Of course, it sets out the level of support that is needed and what those kind folk will receive in return. It’s packed full of great images and memories of miles gone by. I’m able to share a few of my favourites.

I’m very pleased to report that there is a couple of thousand of pounds in the pipeline pledged to the Hospice already. That boggles my mind considering the stage of planning I’m currently at. There are also two kind folk who have expressed an interest in being on the support team.

The next milestone in the build up this run will be announced on Monday. I’ve got ambitious plans to bring people on this journey at a level never before seen. Monday’s announcement is the first small step towards that.

Sponsorship Prospectus for 2025 run almost finished

My sponsorship prospectus is almost finished. It was past midnight last night when I stopped writing for the day. I’ve got a couple of pages of mainly images to add tonight then it’ll be off to the fundraising staff at St. Benedict's Hospice for sign off.

It’s safe to say that I’ve put a lot of effort into it and I hope it helps to get the 2025 run off the ground. I should also add that this is probably the most excited I’ve ever been for a major run. I’ve got ambitious plans to bring the run to the masses every day in 2025 as well as all the build up.

This could be an incredible journey and successful fundraiser if it comes off. Plans will be announced during the last week of June so there isn’t much longer to wait.

Progress made on 2025 run

It’s an early start today as much as yesterday was a late finish. Let me explain.

After months of trying to write a sponsorship prospectus for a potential massive run in 2025 I finally made a huge amount of progress yesterday. The thing that helped was finalising a route that I’d struggled to get right for the last 6 months. Thankfully, I now have a trans continental route so mind bogglingly difficult in terms of logistics never mind running the thing. Without the experience of the previous 10,000 miles (across the USA, Australia and so on) I would not have even contemplated it. This next run feels very “next level” and I’ll have to up my game in many respects.

Anyway, that’s the tease over with. I expect to have a full proposal for St. Benedict’s Hospice to sign off on before this long weekend is over. I’ve been in contact with the fundraising staff on numerous occasions about the 2025 run, so hopefully that will go smoothly. Once that’s done, attention will turn to the “big announcement” which I hope will be in June.

Incidentally, that will be 30 years since I started raising funds for St. Benedict's Hospice. That fact and all of the generosity shown by so many people fills me with a huge amount of pride. I’m not one to rest on my laurels, however. There are still thousands of miles to run and pounds to raise.

So after a midnight finish last night, I’m back working on my prospectus again this morning. I’ll be taking a long break to visit St. James Park, of course later today. The photo below was taken there just after the 2011 run across the USA (in a size small t-shirt!!).

I’m hugely excited about another massive run and the funds that it could bring in to St. Benedict’s Hospice. While it would be the most difficult run to date, it is also going to require the biggest amount of support too. I look forward to talking more about it over the next few months. Watch this space.
