Run Geordie Run Dishes selling well at Firenze

Regular readers may remember that Firenze Restaurant in Jesmond are now selling specially designed Run Geordie Run dishes. Each one sold sees a 50p donation made to The Children's Foundation.

As at the end of May, the sales figures were as follows:
  • Asparagus wrapped in Parma Ham - 49
  • Pasta Marcco - 58
  • Profiteroles with a white chocolate dipping sauce - 44
  • Total dishes sold - 151
To help celebrate the sale of the 150th dish and further funds raised for The Children's Foundation, Firenze delivered enough free Pizzas last Friday to feed 50 of my colleagues in Virgin Money's IT Department. Don't be fooled by the image below, the pizza boxes were well and truly empty by the time this image was taken! Thanks to Antonio, Jon, Mark and Ian for posing for the photo. Thank you to the other staff for polishing off the pizzas in very quick time!

The following video explains a bit about the 3 special Run Geordie Run dishes.

This video explains a little about how each dish helps The Children's Foundation. Watch out for appearances from Libby from The Children's Foundation and Gavin from Firenze.

Watch out for a special Firenze competition this Friday in conduction with one of my sponsors, Benfield Motor Group. Simply follow @DriveBenfield on Twitter and retweet their #enjoyrewards tweet put out on Friday. One lucky winner, picked at random, will win a meal for 2 at Firenze in Jesmond.

The Firenze website with links to menus and various reviews is here. If you're in the area then Firenze is well worth a visit. If you do make it then please consider trying one or indeed all of the Run Geordie Run dishes. In doing so, you'll be helping the very worthy cause that is The Children's Foundation.
