Happy Birthday to me….

Today is my 40th birthday and I'm dedicating the miles to the memory of my parents; Margery and Terry Allison. I know they would have been incredibly proud of this run across the USA which is a huge reason for doing what I do.

I've been reading through a lot of birthday cards and was very surprised to receive one from Alan Shearer. Brilliant!

Now what do you get the man who has everything for his birthday, I hear you ask. How about a donation to one of the 2 charities I'm running across the USA to raise funds for; St Benedict's Hospice and The Children's Foundation. You could even leave a Happy Birthday message on the justgiving page.

If you would like to sponsor my run then donations can be made in a number of ways. www.justgiving.com have introduced a brilliant new free donation method. Did you know that you can now donate to the 2 charities using your mobile phone?

To donate an amount to St Benedict's Hospice, please text your desired amount and the following code RNGR98 to 70070:

Thanks in advance for any donations. I plan to enjoy my 40th birthday at the same weight I was at the age of 20 by running 40 miles.

Finally, thanks to nufc.com for more first class coverage of this run and a special mention of my birthday. As ever, I'm indebted to the lads for having me on their website for the last 16 months. So many donations have come in from nufc.com readers all over the world.
