Day 2 - Half way point

It's really really tough going today in temperatures that just seem to keep on rising. Throw in to the mix the face that there is very little shade and you've got the recipe for an extremely tough day. But that's just how I like it and how I expect it to be. It wouldn't be deserving of your sponsorship otherwise.

I'm writing this at the half way point with my feet in a bucket of ice water. Which is very nice! The run will start again at 5 when the temperatures will start to drop dramatically. I expect to finish running in the dark today.

Today's miles are being done in the memory of Bill and Vi Davison as dedicated by their Granddaughter Rachel. As I experienced yesterday, having this kind of profound meaning to the run is really helping me focus on the task ahead. It is an honour to run in their memory.

There is no letup in this running schedule and tomorrow I will be climbing up to a height of 4200 ft! It's a schedule that I hope the readers of this blog find worthy of sponsorship. Many of you have done so already and the fundraising total is currently £30,505. Which I know means a heck of a lot to St Benedict's Hospice and The Children's Foundation.

If you would like to make a donation then any amount, no matter how large or small, would be gratefully received using the following links.
