Coming just two weeks after the last sponsorship landmark was reached, the charity fund burst through the £26,000 barrier today.
I've had a lot of pledges this last week from my colleagues in the IT department at Northern Rock also segments in the "miles in memory" scheme continue to sell well.
Bishop Ian Ramsey School in Medomsley held a non uniform day recently and raised £168. This is more pounds than there are pupils at the school! Incredibly generous of them.
I had originally hoped to start the run across the USA with £25,000 raised. That will now no longer be the case, which is fantastic!
I never grow tired of thanking those kind folk for their donations. Please bear in mind that the small donations are just as important as the big ones. Put together, those small donations can and do make a huge difference to St Benedict's Hospice and The Children's Foundation. More specifically, it makes a huge difference to terminally ill people and children in the region. My own Mother and Father were once, sadly, some of those terminally ill people.
